M-1905 Single Loop Cartridge Belt

The M-1905 Single Loop Cartridge Belt

The Single Loop Cartridge Belt, also known as the M-1905 belt, was made to hold 30 rounds of ammunition, each bullet resting in it’s own loop. It features a “T” buckle closure and also has four grommets on the lower left and right sides of the buckle for attaching other equipment. The adjusting hooks were marked with the Mills logo and “Patented Apr 18 1905” underneath. These belts were also popular in the civilian sector for hunting and sport. These belts were one of the last looped cartridge belts issued, as the military slowly leaned towards cartridge belts with pockets to protect the ammunition from the elements, and to prevent the loss of ammunition as well.
