Known to the military as Specification No. 325 which was dated May 2, 1892, this field trumpet saw extensive use from the Spanish-American War up through WWII and is even made today, though for the civilian market. It replaced the previous Model 1879 F trumpet. It was in both G and F tones, and has no way to adjust tunes. It has two rings for attaching a carrying strap and some came with colored wool cords to designate the branch of service (Army only).
This trumpet was used both in the field and for ceremonial purposes. It is considerably longer than it’s replacement, the Specification 1152 Bugle.
