The WWI Soldier's Pay Record Book
This book was issued to all enlisted and Non-Commissioned Officers and was used as identification that was to be produced to authorities on demand. On the envelope would be the soldier’s name, serial number and unit/organization. Inside the book is a whole lot of personal information, not just pay records. Enlistment information, birth date, War Risk Insurance amount and more were also required to be filled out. To the collector, this is a goldmine of information about a soldier!
